Flash flooding hit parts of the Barcelona area on Monday morning, November 4, as heavy rain swept through the region.. Spain's State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) issued a red alert for parts of northeastern Catalonia, warning of torrential rain. The inclement weather led to severe flooding across Catalonia, with Barcelona’s airport partially submerged and about 50 flights cancelled.
